Even if going to the salon for spa manicures or deep tissue massages are not in your budget, that’s no excuse for not taking some time to feel radiant.

Let’s face it: being a woman isn’t easy… or cheap. The average American woman spends hundreds of dollars a year on cosmetics and beauty treatments. But we gals on a budget deserve some pampering too. Feeling beautiful increases your confidence and helps you fight of the blues. Here are five ways to feel pretty without spending a fortune.

1. Have an “At Home Spa Night”.

Sure, we would all love to splurge on a massage at Canyon Ranch or a facial at Mandarin Oriental, but that’s not an option for most ladies on a budget. You can have a delightful night of rest and relaxation without leaving your bathroom. Light some candles, program your ITunes to some classical music, slap on a Queen Helene Facial Mask (seriously a large bottle is under five bucks and will last you for months), and soak in a bubble bath.

2. Invest in a new accessory

Clothing makes the lady, but maxing out your credit card on that dress you just had to have isn’t worth it. Instead, why not revamp an old standby in your closest with a new accessory? A plain black dress can take on a whole new life with a sparkly necklace or some chandelier earrings. You can add pop to your old spring jacket by adding a vibrant colored scarf to your look. You don’t have to spend a ton on your accessories. Stores like H&M, Forever 21, and Accessorize have lost of cute options for under ten bucks.

3.Invite your significant other over for a message:

(and make him or her return the favor): Give your honey a back rub to show that you care. He or she will enjoy the attention and want to lavish you with some in return.

4. Host a Beauty Product Party

Companies such as Origins, The Body Shop, and Mary Kay will come to home free of charge and let you and your pals try their latest products for free. If you have a little mad money feel free to treat yourself if you find something you love, but you may get some free goodies. Hostesses often get a small gift for offering the store’s consult a venue to make some sales.

5. Get Moving

Feeling beautiful comes naturally when you get your endorphins flowing. You don’t need a membership to a fancy gym or designer work out gear to feel fabulous. You can download free podcasts for your activity of choice such as Yogamazing or Zumba Fitness. Of course pulling your favorite pair of heels out of their shoebox and dancing around your house works too. Your mood will instantly lift and everyone will comment on the beautiful smile you’ll be wearing.
